Terms of Service

Last updated 21 September 2026 · Effective from launch

The short version

  • You must be 18 or over with a Nigerian phone number.
  • Prices are fixed in naira. Tapping Buy now means you are committed to pay.
  • Your money sits in escrow until you confirm delivery.
  • Only pay inside Glimr. Payments made outside the app are not protected.
  • Sellers are responsible for what they sell. We run the marketplace and the escrow.

1. Who we are

Glimr is a live shopping marketplace operated by [Glimr Technologies Ltd], a company registered in Nigeria ([RC number]), at [registered office address, Lagos].

These Terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using Glimr you agree to them, together with our Privacy Policy and Buyer Protection policy.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 and have a Nigerian phone number.

Give us true information and keep it up to date. One personal account per person; businesses can hold a separate seller account.

Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account until you tell us it has been compromised.

We may ask you to verify your identity before you buy large amounts, sell, or withdraw money.

3. Buying on Glimr

Every item has a fixed price in naira. There is no bidding.

When you tap Buy now or Pay, you make a binding order to buy that item at that price.

Before you pay we show the item price and the escrow protection fee, itemised.

4. Payments and escrow

Payment is by Nigerian bank transfer and is held by our escrow provider, not by us and not by the seller.

The seller is paid when you confirm the item arrived, or automatically after the confirmation window has passed.

Paying a seller directly, outside Glimr, removes every protection described here.

5. Delivery

Delivery is arranged between you and the seller. The seller marks an order as shipped; you mark it as delivered.

Glimr does not carry goods and is not the courier.

6. Selling on Glimr

You need a verified identity and a verified bank account before you can list or go live.

Describe items honestly, including faults. Ship within the time stated on the order.

Commission is deducted from each completed sale. Withdrawals to your bank are free.

7. Live shows, chat and content

Do not mislead buyers, harass anyone, share other people’s personal details, or ask buyers to pay or chat outside Glimr.

We may mute, remove content, end a show or suspend an account that breaks these rules.

8. Items you cannot sell

Counterfeit, replica or “first copy” branded goods.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives.

Drugs, prescription medicines, and anything requiring NAFDAC approval that does not have it.

Stolen goods, and items you do not have the right to sell.

Live animals, wildlife products and human remains.

Adult sexual content and services.

Cash, foreign currency, gift cards, crypto and financial products.

Government IDs, documents, and SIM cards registered to someone else.

Hazardous or recalled items, and anything illegal in Nigeria.

9. Fees

Buyers pay an escrow protection fee on each order. Sellers pay a commission on completed sales. Withdrawals to your bank are free.

We will tell you at least 30 days before we change any fee.

10. Problems between buyers and sellers

Buyers and sellers should first try to sort things out in the order chat. If that does not work, either side can open a case and we will decide how the escrowed money is released, following our Buyer Protection policy.

Our decision on releasing escrowed money is final for that money. It does not stop you using any legal rights you have against the other person.

11. Our responsibility to you

Glimr provides the marketplace, escrow and tools. We are not the seller of items listed by sellers.

We work hard to keep Glimr running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other Nigerian law that cannot be excluded.

12. Suspending or closing accounts

You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

We may limit or suspend an account for fraud, selling prohibited items, asking for payment outside Glimr, repeated failed deliveries, or other serious breaches of these Terms. We will tell you why unless the law or a safety concern prevents us.

A suspended account can finish orders already in progress but cannot start anything new.

13. Changes to these Terms

If we make important changes we will tell you in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using Glimr after that, the new Terms apply.

14. Law and disputes with Glimr

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

If you have a complaint about us, contact support first. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, either of us may refer it to mediation, and then to arbitration in Lagos under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023.
